Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking a Gondola Manager to lead the safe, efficient and guest-focused operation of the Village Gondola and the gondola parking garage, moving guests, homeowners, luggage and freight between Highway 40 and our snowbound Village. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who will hire, train, motivate and coach a team of Gondola Operators and Garage Attendants, and who takes pride in delivering a warm welcome in every kind of Sierra weather.
This is an exciting season to join the team. Sugar Bowl is replacing its historic 1983 Emerald Gondola with the new Doppelmayr Village Gondola. The Village Gondola’s new eight-passenger cabins will carry guests across Van Norden Meadow from the Highway 40 terminal and garage to the Village Terminal, at the heart of the Village and steps from the Disney Express and the historic Village Lodge. The new system offers shorter waits during busy arrival and departure periods, more reliable operation during Sierra storms, a fully ADA-accessible experience, and redesigned terminals that let luggage carts, linen carts and other equipment move smoothly on and off without slowing the line. The Gondola & Garage Manager will lead the team through this transition and set the standard for how the new Village Gondola is operated for years to come.
