Status: Seasonal, Full-Time and Part-Time (Winter Season)

Sugar Bowl Resort is looking for dynamic, energetic Bussers to help our Food and Beverage team deliver a great experience, shift after shift. You’ll be right in the middle of the action — serving drinks, helping with food prep and sanitation, keeping the bar area spotless, and making sure every guest feels taken care of. Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to “sunny California” since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts alike.

Who You Are

  • Prior food and beverage experience is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification
  • Holds a current California Food Handler’s certification
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for a resort operating schedule
  • Committed to providing excellent, attentive service to every guest, every time
  • Open to learning new skills and supporting other departments as needed; a positive, team-first mindset

What You’ll do

  • Deliver food and beverage items as needed
  • Assist service staff with the guest experience
  • Polish, vacuum, and perform general cleaning of food service areas
  • Handle hot food service items promptly and safely
  • Clear dirty dishes from tables, reset tables with clean flatware and glassware
  • Reset and maintain service areas
  • Properly organize dirty dishes and glassware at the dish station drop-off area
  • Possess exemplary knowledge of our food and beverage menus
  • Cross-train as needed, building a broader understanding of restaurant operations
  • Assist in special events as needed
  • Assist with snow removal as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods throughout a shift
  • Comfortable lifting and carrying dishes, bins, and supplies up to 30 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for handling dishware, glassware, and cleaning tools
  • Steady balance for carrying loaded trays and bins through busy areas
  • Comfortable working near hot food, steam, and cleaning chemicals
  • Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to respond quickly to guest and team needs
